NEW: Report on the Mayor’s 2014 Executive Budget!
Read a new report released by the Campaign for Children on May 6, 2013. It finds that 9,000 children will lose child care on June 30th, unless something is done to restore the cuts that the Mayor is making in his Executive Budget for 2014. $46.4 million will be cut from child care center seats, along with $12.1 million from school age vouchers; plus, a new $10 million cut will be tacked onto the existing $50.9 million deficit for after-school programs. With the President discussing his plans to increase children’s access to high-quality early childhood education and after-school programs, it’s clear that the Mayor’s Executive Budget moves New York City backwards.
